NoShrimp 2.0 (beta)

So we are starting up again after at least a two and a half year hiatus, and we are very excited.  Or more correctly, we are sort of more than ho hum about it in an anticipatory kind of way.

It’s interesting to me after a couple more years of reading online writing, and finding out what I like to read and what I don’t, to think about what I might write now.  I have in the past had a very strict set of rules (one is called the neck-to-knees rule - nothing in between gets a mention on the site) that mean I don’t write about work, or my personal life, or other people’s personal lives.  Scott is kind of more relaxed than me, and tonight while he was building the new blog, I was reading him bits and pieces from random internet surfing.

Erin: [reads aloud very explicit post from the blog of a girl whose older sister I went to high school with].  And that is the PUBLIC part of her journal.  There are private posts that only certain people can see.  I mean if she is happy to say [content that breaks the neck to knees rule] in PUBLIC, what is there left to be private?

Scott: Well, I guess people are comfortable with different levels of disclosure.  I mean you have always had that [waves hand to indicate neck to knees rule] thing, and I guess she has a different … rule.  I always actually found yours a little …

Erin:  Amish?

Scott:  ….yeah?

So Amish it will be.  Buggies and horses and no electricity in the house, white caps and pinned aprons and the Plain Truth by Jodie Picoult.
